Sixth Grade News

The Walk-A-Thon is coming up on October 12th and we are looking for volunteers! If you are interested in helping out, you can let the office know.

The kids had a good time at Wal-Camp despite the mosquito bites!

There will be no girls volleyball practice on Friday, 10/5.

Coming Up:

  • CC Practice Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday 3:30-4:15 pm

  • CC Meet @ Walther on Wednesday, 10/3 @ 4:30 pm

  • Boys & GIrls VB Game on Monday, 10/1 @ St. Paul; 4:15 pm and 5:15 pm

  • GIrls VB Game on Thursday, 10/4 vs. MCA @ 4:00 pm

  • Boys VB Practice on Friday, 10/5, 3:30-5:00 pm

Happening in Class:

  • Social Studies - The students are currently working on an Ancient Egypt webquest in class.

  • Geography - We have started a new unit about the five themes of Geography. There will be a test on Thursday, October 11th.

  • English - We have begun our narrative essay project. Due dates and instructions can be found on the Google Classroom. If you would like a paper copy, you may request one from me.

Sixth Grade News

Sixth grade is off to Wal-Camp on Monday morning and we are so excited! The students will get to learn archery, orienteering, survival skills, and more! They will go canoeing, learn about the constellations and stars from a Christian viewpoint, and test out their physics knowledge by making some roller coasters!

I will send home an information sheet concerning Wal-Camp on Monday next week. It will have the address, their contact info, my contact info, and drop off and pick up times.

Sixth Grade News

Just a quick reminder, please fill out Wal-Camp forms, Parent Info sheets, and the Anti-Bullying policy and send them back to school next week.

If any parents are interested in coming to Wal-Camp, I need to know by Monday so I can let Wal-Camp know our final numbers.

Coming Up:

  • Boys VB practice Tuesday & Thursday 3:30-4:30

  • Girls VB practice Wednesday 3:30-4:15 & Friday 3:30-5

  • Picture Day Wednesday September 12th!

  • Friday, September 14th - Jeans Day! If your child brings in $2, they can wear jeans to school :-)


Happening in Class:

  • Math 1 will continue to work on a unit of Fraction Review.

  • Math 2 will take a quiz on Fractions on Monday and then they will start a study of Decimal Review.

  • Social Studies - We have started our study of Ancient Egypt. Next week, I will assign a sarcophagus project that will need to be completed at home.

Sixth Grade News

Another first week of school is in the books! Each week you will receive a Friday letter from me. I will send a paper copy home, as well as an e-mailed copy. It will also be on the school website each week.

It will include information from all the third floor teachers. If they have a project they are working on, a test coming up, or anything else we want you to know, we will put it in the Happening in Class section.

Coming Up:

  • NO SCHOOL MONDAY - LABOR DAY

  • Boys VB Practice Tuesday & Thursday from 3:30-4:30

  • Girls VB Practice Tuesday & Thursday from 4:30-5:30


Happening in Class:

  • Math - Math 1 and Math 2 have both begun a unit of Fraction review to start off the school year. It is important that concepts of operations with fractions are mastered before they start to work on learning new concepts this year in math.

  • Science - The students are working on an Autobiography Map that is due on Friday, September 7th. They will have class time next week to work.
