Need Service Hours?  Cure JM Walk--We are looking for volunteers at the walk. The walk is in Elk Grove Village at Busse Woods on May 7th. Volunteers should arrive at 7am.  Anyone that is interested in volunteering should contact Mrs. Ortega at sortegasort@yahoo.com

Science - There is a bone test on Monday. They were given a list of bones to study last Monday.

History - We have started our study of the Civil War. We will be completing three chapters of information before we take a final Civil War test. This will be the last unit we study this year.

Religion - If your child has not completed all of their service hours, they need to completed by the end of the 4th quarter. If they are not turned in, your child will be required to come to summer school to finish their hours.

Math - Math Group 2 will be wrapping up a geometry unit with a test on Monday. Then they will be beginning a unit on data and statics.  Pre-Algebra will continue studying their geometry unit throughout next week.

Service Hours and Book-Talks due in 1 week!  (Book-talks--only if your student is in Reading 2 or 3.)

Auction Basket--As part of the auction, each year we have themed classroom baskets that are part of the Silent Auction. We are asking that each family donate an item toward their child's classroom basket.  7th Grade’s Basket is themed: Cubs and Blackhawks Basket.  Donations accepted until Monday, March 13th.  Any questions, ask.

Pi Day Celebration--Since next Tuesday is March 14 (3.14), every math class will be celebrating Pi Day.  If students would like to bring in any circular treat to share with their math class that day, they are encouraged to do so.  Ask your son or daughter for how many students are in their math class because that number varies by each student.  So excited to celebrate Pi!

Auction Invitations--Invitations were sent home in your Friday Folder this week.  If you didn’t get one and need one, please contact me and I will get you another.

MAP Testing--Any make-up tests will be completed this week.  Also, we will be taking the Science MAP test for the first time this week.  It will take place on Tuesday afternoon.

English--We have started Chapter 4 on subject complements.  All poor homework assignments can be redone for full credit.

Remember Service Hours and Book Talks!  Third quarter has started and that means 2 more service hours are due (if students haven’t completed 1st or 2nd quarter hours, those need to be done as well) and a certain amount of book talks are due based upon reading class.  Please remind your student to stay on top of these things!
