7th Grade Class News

Auction Basket--Our St. John’s Auction is taking place soon.  The 7th grade basket is a Nerf Basket. If you would be willing to donate new Nerf items such as sports equipment, dart shooters, or even gift cards, please send them to school with your child or drop them off in the office. Any questions, ask!

Homework Room--Letters went out today for next week’s homework room.  Please sign them and send them back. Also, check FastDirect to see what assignments your child has missing.

Science/SS--There will be a Science--Chapter 2 test on Monday and a Social Studies--Chapter 12 test on Tuesday.

Math--Math 2 has just begun Chapter 6, "Geometry".  The focus for them next week will be on area of polygons.  Pre-Algebra just started Chapter 7, “Solving Equations & Inequalities”.  The focus for next week will be on multi-step problems. Algebra began a new unit on Chapter 8, “Exponents & Exponential Functions”.  Next week we will focus on expanding the rules of multiplication and on the exponent rules of division.

Memory--

 Tuesday--1 Timothy 6:10--For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils.  It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Thursday--2 Peter 2:15-16--Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray.  They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

7th Grade Class News

MAP TESTING--The 6th-8th grade will be MAP Testing on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  We will take two tests each day. Please make sure your student gets enough sleep the night before as well as eats a good breakfast.  Students are also allowed to bring a healthy snack to eat during break times.

Memory--

 Tuesday--Hebrews 7:25-- Consequently he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.     

 Thursday--James 3:9-10--With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.  From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

7th Grade Class News

Lutheran Schools Week--Check out the Parent Bulletin for a list of the special dress days for next week.  Please adhere to the regulations as they are stated. Any questions, please ask! The week starts out with all students  singing at Pastor Erhardt’s installation at 6PM on Sunday.  I hope to see you there!

Reminder-- 2nd Quarter Report Cards will be released today after school.  Check out your child’s grades and then let me know if you have any questions.  If you could let me know you’ve seen the report card, that would be great (FastDirect message or email at the above address--preferred).

Memory--Tuesday--Romans 5:17--For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.    Thursday--Romans 5:18-19--Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.  For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

Reminder-- The 2nd quarter ended today.  Report Cards will be made available the following week on January 25th. 

Homework Room--Letters went out today for next week’s homework room.  Please sign them and send them back. Also, check FastDirect to see what assignments your child has missing.

Memory--Tuesday--Psalm 119:9-11--How can a young man keep his way pure?  By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!  I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Thursday--1 Peter 2:9--But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

7th Grade Class News

Reminder-- The 2nd quarter ends on January 18th.  Report Cards will be made available the following week on January 25th.  Any homework that is currently a 0 (NHI) can be handed in for full credit before January 18th.  

Homework Room--Letters went out today for next week’s homework room.  Please sign them and send them back.

Science--There will be a chapter 5 test on Tuesday of this week.  

Math--Math 2 will continue to work on Chapter 5, "Percents".  Pre-Algebra will continue to study Chapter 6, "Ratios, Proportions & Percents".  Algebra will begin a new unit on Chapter 7, "System of Equations".

Social Studies--There will be a chapter 11 test on Friday.  

Memory--Tuesday--Genesis 46:4--I myself will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also bring you up again, and Joseph’s hand shall close your eyes.   Thursday--Ephesians 4:11-12--And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for  building up the body of Christ.
