Memory -

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18


Math -

Pre-Algebra will continue to work on Chapter 9, "Spatial Thinking".  The focus will be on transformations. Algebra will continue to work on Chapter 11, "Radical Expressions & Equations"


Social Studies -

Next week the 8th graders will continue to study Chapter 10, “The Civil Rights Era”.


Religion -

This week the 8th graders finished their unit on “The Passion of our Lord, Jesus Christ”.  Next week, we will watch the movie “The Passion of the Christ”. Please sign the permission slip for the movie that went home today.


English -

Students will continue to present their Demonstration Speeches this week.  Please make sure your student is prepared to present on the day they have been chosen.  


Recognition Dinner -

Next week the invitations for Recognition Dinner will be sent home.

Math -

Pre-Algebra will be starting a new chapter on “Spatial Thinking”.  Algebra will be wrapping up Chapter 10, “Quadratic Equations & Functions”.  There will be a test towards the end of the week.


Social Studies -

The students worked in groups to present the information of Chapter 9, “The Cold War and the American Dream” to their classmates next week.  Students were responsible for presenting the information, creating an assessment and contributing questions for the unit test.

Geography -

We will be starting a new unit on Europe.

Project Based Learning -

On Monday the 5th-8th graders will start a PBL week.  The four grades will be split into 8 groups and will be given a task on Monday of a project that will need to be completed and presented on Friday night.  We are keeping the project itself a surprise from the students, so be sure to get the details from your child on Monday. We are looking forward to a great week!

Math -

All math classes need to make sure to have all missing assignments, corrections, and signed tests into Mrs. Runge by Friday, March 29.   Pre-Algebra will have a test on Chapter 8, “Linear Functions & Graphing” on Wednesday, March 27. Algebra will continue their study of Chapter 10, “Quadratic Equations & Functions”.

Geography -

There will  be a unit test of Latin America on Thursday, March 28.

End of the Quarter -

All service hours and any missing work is due by Friday, March 29.

Math -

Pre-Algebra will continue to study Chapter 8, "Linear Functions & Graphing".  Algebra will wrap up their study of Chapter 9, "Polynomials & Factoring". They will take a test on Wednesday, March 20.  

 

Science -

8th  grade will be taking a break from the book for the week to have some fun with technology and coding. They'll be working with Lego Mindstorms, green screen videos, and other coding robots.


Social Studies -

The Constitution Test will be on Thursday, March 21.  Please help make sure your 8th graders is prepared.


End of the Quarter -

All service hours and any missing work is due by Friday, March 29.


Auction -

The 6th annual PTL auction is quickly approaching.  This year, the 8th grade classroom is to collecting scratch off lottery tickets for a “Win Big” basket.  Please send your donations into the school office by next Friday, March 22. Don’t have time to pick up lottery tickets?  You are always able to donate cash instead.
