Memory -

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”


Colossians 2:2-3 That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.


Math -

Pre-Algebra will continue to study their unit on “Algebraic Expressions & Integers”.  Algebra will wrap up their unit on “Variables, Function Patterns, & Graphs” with a test on Wednesday.

Social Studies -

Next week, 8th grade will take a couple of days to study the events of September 11.  There will be an in class group project and presentation.


English -

Narrative Essay rough draft is due on Tuesday.  After cleaning it up, the final draft will be due on Friday.   

Kindergarten Buddies -

Beginning next week, 8th grade will meet for the first time with their Kindergarten Buddies.  They will participate in a get to know you activity with them. Once a month, 8th grade will have an opportunity to do a variety of activities with their buddy.  


Girls Volleyball -

Practice WILL NOT be on Tuesday.  Practice will be Wed, 9/12 - 3:30 -4:15 pm and Fri, 9/14 - 3:30-5:00 pm.

Memory -

Proverbs 3:5-6:  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


Ephesians 4:32:   Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.


Math -

Pre-Algebra students started working on a unit on Algebraic Expressions and Integers.  Algebra students will be working on Variables, Function Patterns, and Graphs.

Social Studies -

The first unit of study this year will be “Growth in the West”.   Next week, 8th grade will be assigned a mini-project. The rubric for this “Wanted Poster” will go home on Wednesday, September 5 and will be due on Friday, September 7.


Religion -

With New Testament being the main focus of this school year, 8th grade will start the year studying “The Childhood of Jesus”.
