Armed Forces Ministry
Since the days of the Civil War, pastors of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod have served the armed forces of our nation with our Lord’s Holy Word and Holy Sacraments. The United States chaplain corps has seen these faithful pastors serve with distinction and honor. We do well to remember them and all our servicemen and women in our prayers, and in various acts of mercy. For more information, see the Synod’s website and learn about its Ministry to the Armed Forces.
The Dorcas Society of St. John’s has sent care packages for the soldiers served by Rev. Michael Frese, a captain in the U.S. Army.
BIBLE STICK?... That's what they call it. It is the entire Bible on an mp3 device the size of your pinky finger. "Faith Comes By Hearing" is a group that is producing these wonderful tools, so that our armed forces may have the Word of God with them, wherever they go. As God enables you, prayerfully consider what you can give, over and above your gifts to the Lord for St. John's. We will join many congregations across the nation and take a special offering next Sunday, September 9, as the 11th anniversary of 9/11 approaches.
