PTL VIP DAY! Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 8:45 am – 12:00 pm

Grandparents and other adults are very important parts of our children’s lives.  We are having a
special celebration, VIP DAY, to recognize the important role these people have in the lives of
our children.
 
On Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 8:45 am – 12:00 pm, we will be having VIP DAY
(formerly known as Grandparents Day).  This is a day to celebrate older adults that are important
in our children’s lives.  Other older adults would include, but not limited to, grandparents, other
family members (aunt/uncle) or family friends.   We only ask that the VIPs NOT BE A
PARENT OR SIBLING.  The theme this year is HAWAIIAN.
 
We encourage all our children to invite their grandparents or other special adults out for this
event.  The VIPs will attend chapel, go visit the children in their classrooms for special events
there and are then invited to attend lunch in the gym immediately following leaving the
classrooms.
 
We ask you to:
 
1.  Please have your child(ren) sign their names after “love” at the bottom of the ticket
invitations and give the enclosed invitations to your children’s VIPs
2.  Complete the enclosed RSVP from.  Please print clearly - we need the information
to make name tags.  You can also return the form to the school with your child or
email it to Sandy Pavlat (ptl@stjohnschicago.org).  We MUST receive the RSVP no
later than Friday March 2, 2012
 
Please help avoid last minute confusion, misunderstandings and hurt feelings by following these
requests.
 
If your child has a VIP who is unable to attend the event, please ask the VIP to write a note to
your child and put it in a sealed envelope for the child to open and read on VIP Day.  The note
should be passed along to your child’s teacher through you in their homework folders.  This way,
their VIP can still participate in the event!
 
VIP Day is a special day for the children and their VIPs.  Thank you for your cooperation in
making this event a success and a positive, memorable experience for your child.
